Dental Veneers and Laminates

Veneers are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve your appearance.

What are Veneers and Laminates?

Dental veneers and laminates are thin shells of porcelain that are attached to the front of your teeth. They help to cover up small imperfections on the surface of the teeth that would otherwise require more invasive procedures to correct. Veneers are incredibly long-lasting and highly durable, lasting up to 10 years before needing replacement. They are professionally made in a local dental laboratory where they are matched perfectly with your smile

Why might you need Dental Veneers and Laminates?

Both veneers and laminates can cover minor flaws in your teeth. Instead of going for more invasive treatment to correct these imperfections, the veneers are placed right on top. Veneers can completely change your smile and your appearance, so they are considered a cosmetic procedure and often used for smile makeoversWhile thin in nature, they are durable and can withstand quite a bit of force.

What makes you a candidate for Laminates and Veneers?

Most healthy adult patients who want dental veneers and laminates can easily have them made and placed. Veneers do an amazing job of completely transforming your smile and creating a beautiful, uniform appearance. Some of the reasons you may be a good candidate for veneers include:

  • You have discolored and stained teeth
  • You have small cracks and chips in your teeth
  • You have spaces and large gaps between your front teeth
  • You don’t like the way your smile looks

What can you expect with the Veneer and Laminate procedure?

The beauty about the veneer and laminate procedure is that it requires little to no anesthesia. The procedure itself is relatively noninvasive and can be done quickly. You will come into the office where Dr. Buccellato will buff out the front teeth. Impressions are taken and sent off so that the veneers can be custom made for you. When they come back into the office, you’ll need to have them attached to the fronts of your teeth. With proper care and maintenance, you can expect the veneers to last for up to a decade.
